NEW PORSCHE 911 GT3 RS UNVEILED: THE DEFINITIVE TRACK CAR FOR EVERYDAY USE

3rd MArch 2015

The new Porsche 911 GT3 RS, which is announced today, once again blurs the boundary between road-going sports cars and race cars. It is equipped with the maximum degree of motorsport technology currently possible in a street-legal 911, yet retains supreme suitability for everyday driving.

Extensive modifications to the drive system, aerodynamics and lightweight design enhance performance beyond that of even the 911 GT3. Indeed, the RS has set a lap time around the 14 mile Nürburgring Nordschleife of 7 min 20 secs; an achievement which also trumps the historic record value of the Carrera GT super sports car of just under 7 min and 29 secs. As a consequence, this clearly qualifies the 911 GT3 RS as the benchmark in its class – directly at its launch.

LAMBORGHINI AVENTADOR LP 750-4 SUPERVELOCE MAKES NORTH AMERICAN DEBUT DURING AMELIA ISLAND CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE

16th March 2015

1971 Miura SV Sets Record for Vintage Lamborghini Sold at Live Auction

HERNDON, Va., March 16, 2015 - Attendees at last weekend's Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance were the first in North America to view Lamborghini's latest super sports car, the Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce. The Superveloce made its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month and followed with a media and public debut in Amelia Island, FL. In a fitting coincidence, at a related auction during the weekend, a 1971 Lamborghini Miura SV sold for $2.31 million, a new record for a vintage Lamborghini sold at live auction.

"The reception this vehicle received at its North American debut at the Amelia Island Concours this weekend matches the level of enthusiasm we saw from the global audience in Geneva," said Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO, Automobili Lamborghini. "The Aventador Superveloce continues the Lamborghini tradition of pushing the boundaries in terms of performance and driving emotion and we were excited to see the positive reaction from our American audience."

The Superveloce is the new pinnacle of Lamborghini's flagship Aventador model range - a car created to enhance groundbreaking performance and unmatched design. Its engineers and designers sought to create the fastest and most emotional Lamborghini driving experience yet, thanks to an improved power-to-weight ratio, increased aerodynamic performance, improved drivability and a track-focused aesthetic.

Every system on the car has been reconsidered to enable a new, elevated performance threshold. Engine output of the 6.5-liter V12 engine has been increased to 750 horsepower while weight has been decreased by 110 pounds by optimizing equipment levels and utilizing additional lightweight materials such as forged aluminum (rims) and carbon fiber (bodywork and interior.)

Aerodynamic efficiency has been optimized by 150% while downforce has been increased by more than 170% over the standard Aventador. This enables the Superveloce to accelerate to 60 mph from a standstill in 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of more than 217 mph. To improve drivability, the vehicle features an adaptive magneto-rheological suspension as well as the electromechanical Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS).

The Superveloce will reach North American Lamborghini retailers in summer 2015 at a base price of $489,600 (incl. GGT).

In additional to the successful reveal, a limited number of client and prospect test drive experiences took place in the brand's existing Aventador and Huracán models, at the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island.

Also on display for enthusiasts and Concours attendees was an Huracán featuring Ad Personam program options. Following its first full year of Huracán deliveries, Lamborghini has now opened-up the availability of Ad Personam bespoke options for 2015 model year vehicles.
